Thinking of You

Today I am thinking of all the people in Southern California who are affected by the wildfires.

Having had my own evacuation experience in the face of a raging wildfire (A Monster Arrives on the Doorstep), I understand how awful it is to sit and watch the smoke and listen to the radio, wondering if or when it will be my turn to have to leave.
If you are one of those who is preparing for the possibility of evacuating, or who has already evacuated, please know that someone in Arizona is thinking of you and is sending positive thoughts your way.

I’m joining my positive thoughts with yours. I’ve never been through an evacuation, so I can’t imagine how that must have been with two small children and your mother along…and you were among the lucky ones! Thanks for linking back to your post in June. It really makes me appreciate my “boring” life.

What an amazing photo. It again makes me so thankful for fire fighters and fire ecologists and all those who work so very hard in just these kinds of times.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I feel torn right now between feeling very grateful that we weren’t evacuated (although 3 blocks east of us was), but also heartbroken knowing that hundreds of houses have burned down and than half a million people in the county have been evacuated. :( I feel so helpless – especially since the evacuation center isn’t accepting volunteers or food/supply donations at this time (they have an excess of both… bless their hearts).

I’m joining in with my own warm thoughts for all effected.
